Pants (...are for keeping you warm..)

We had a snow day at school today. I’ve been feeling very tired for the past few days, and ended up sleeping until noon. It was welcome rest, and I felt a little better. Not better enough, however, to go out and work in the 28 degree , damp cold shop. I am much happier when it gets below 10 degrees. The air drops the moisture, and the cold is invigorating. Temps in the 20’s are just uncomfortable cold.... I digress.
I wear a suit to school every day, and needed to replace one that was getting very tattered. Having had almost nothing but poor experiences from my local Men’s Wearhouse (never sized right, either the pants or the jacket fit - not both, salesmen pawning off wrong sizes on me with the words “that’s we have tailors”, and the tailor refusing to do what I ask - it appears that her idea of la little more room” is taking in the crotch until it’s painful and refusing to do anything but waist sizing , cuffs, and the aforementioned torturous crotch ’adjustments’) I decided to test out several online ‘custom’ suit sellers. I have had an excellent experience with this, my favorite being “Combat Gentleman”. Not only of the online sellers, but my favorite suit I’ve owned so far!
I got three suits. The first two I learned how to sew cuffs on (being too cheap to go to a tailor for something I thought I could learn to do on my own) and have been wearing all school year. This one has been hanging for many months, waiting for me to tailor it. I waited so long because I wanted to video the process, and have been procrastinating setting everything up. Well, today was the day.
I set everything up and got to work. It’s only a few hour job, and I’m happy with how the pants turned out. I went a little longer in the leg with these than the previous two, but I think they’re ok. It’s a really good quality suit for $100 (clearance) and doing my own tailoring makes it really economical. Finally a project is finished that has literally been hanging there, staring me in the face!
